Hot Springs Comprehensive Plan

In 2009 SCJ staff updated Hot Springs existing plan to provide meaningful, easy-to-implement direction regarding growth and service provision. A basis in community identity was crucial, but a tight budget made traditional outreach impractical. Instead, SCJ's approach included a strong City partnership, robust stakeholder involvement, an advisory panel and charrette efforts to review objectives and generate a viable, streamlined policy framework. Desired growth patterns, associated with existing and envisioned features, were identified through group exercises and translated to an innovative Plan Concept map. The completed plan's clarity and equally clear ties to process helped its immediate adoption by Council.
