Avista Catalyst Subarea Plan

Avista hired us to consider how proposed transportation system designs may influence development opportunities in the South University District area of Spokane. The core element of this work was to understand the community’s vision for the area’s future and how individual development decisions can be consistent with those ideas.

Avista is developing approximately five acres in the study area, and the results of this work will help Avista program their development’s design, phasing, and treatment of public rights of way. This project used a full-day pop-up studio in the planning area, gathering ideas from more than 100 residents, business owners, and area stakeholders.
