Lincoln Heights Subarea Plan

The Lincoln Heights District Center consists of a wide variety of uses, focused on a cluster of conventional 1960's-era shopping center. Traffic congestion, pedestrian safety, retail prosperity, neighborhood compatibility, bike access, public transportation services, and community aesthetic are primary concerns in this area, a place that accommodates commuter and local traffic on a busy arterial.

Studio Cascade led the master planning effort for the district center, engaging the public every step of the way to ensure planning recommendations met with community expectations. The process suggested significant transformation to the street network and increasing intensity of housing, retial and office development. The community welcomed the proposals for overall intensification as they worked through the process with the consulting team, seeing how more diversity and a managed transportation strategy can enrich their district and help it evolve into the type of place they hope it can be.
